Until noon we stayed in Varna, shopped a lot at the market near the old town, entered the Theotokos Cathedral and had a very tasty lunch at a nice little restaurant. Of course it started to rain again, so we left the city early. And as time was passing by much to fast our next destination had to be Bucharest. We had to skip Constanta and the Danube Delta, because we had only three days left and Nicki had some shopping plans for the Romanian capital. After driving on the worst highway I ever saw - there were even potholes! - we had a short stop in Razgrad to buy our last Bulgarian souvenirs at the local Billa. At this time the engine of our caravan started to make strange noises. A few kilometers after Razgrad we stopped, because we were too afraid that we would destroy the engine completely if we drive on. We called the austrian breakdown service ÖAMTC which sent us a tow truck that brought us - back to Razgrad. Unfortunately it was friday evening before whitsunday, so it was possible that we would have to wait until Tuesday(!) before they could at least try to fix the car ... However all the people were very nice and helpful, they even brought us to a hotel where we stayed overnight ...
